Anon: Have you had sex today?
Me: well I played a ranked game that fucked me pretty hard
I love top lane because all of the other roles have crucial objectives like “Roam the map and make plays happen” or “Protect the marksmen with your life so they can operate”
And then there’s top
Top lanes purpose is literally just ‘Prevent the other top laner from getting fed’
What Tech said, the same goes for really all competitive games. If you can get high rated in one game the lessons learned carry over too others. Though mechanics vary, most of it is understanding the importance of good decision making.
brandsqt providing good insight, he’s actually made money off games so
Q:Can someone who lands in silver eventually get better and eventually get to challenger or are people in challenger just gifted from the start?
Yes, this game is all about time investment. The people who are in challenger right now are there because they have put an absurd amount of time into this game and directed effort into improving.
I have always been considered talented at games in all of my friend circles. I’ve crushed people in every game ranging from Chess to Hide and Seek to Connect 4 to Mario Kart and Super Smash Bro’s Brawl
But I didn’t hit diamond 1 until I started investing the time necessary. Talent is great and gives people a head start but you have to understand that top 200 out of a million players on the ladder is outside the realm of natural skill. Pure talent gets you platinum. Time investment gets you challenger.
For reference, I spent a few months of season 3 stuck in gold 3
Q:What is your theme song?
Right now my theme song is
I’m just loving this because the original anime theme is of ‘The Pillar Men’ of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures who look down on humans like insects and crush them with impunity for simply being in the way
Now this isn’t my real life theme song, but ingame when I’m playing aggressively top lane I need absurd confidence like this. Hesitation means death. Not getting an early kill means leaving the games outcome to the rest of your team. In order to climb the ladder I have to crush my lane hard enough that I can tower dive with impunity.
I must be able to kill the enemy 1v2, anything less is unacceptable
First off, noooo don’t devalue yourself this is not a dumb question and in fact it’s a very important thing to know. This question is also well worded and specific, which is the best kind
Laning phase is still really important as it sets the pace for the rest of the game, it’s more forgiving on certain champions but it should always be kept in mind. Also, up until diamond the majority of players aren’t using their champions optimally in laning, so even champions conventionally thought of weak can be quite dangerous. A really good example of this is Nasus, he’s supposed to be the epitome of a weak early but honestly before any of the life steal changes he was absolutely ridiculous. 20% life steal at level 1 tons of armor, I could easily win lane and farm a storm against bullies like Tryndamere and Jax.
Now that being said, Janna doesn’t have a weak laning phase so don’t listen to those players who clearly do not understand what they’re talking about. It’s crazy difficult to trade with a marksmen who has bonus damage and a shield, Janna works well when your adc has more range than the opponent.
Bonus Janna tip: Against Leona you can stop her mid air during zenith blade but you have to time the tornado to hit Leona after the light projectile hits and she starts moving. If you throw the tornado too early and it hits Leona before she starts moving it will activate after she is knocked up and cancel it out.
Q:A Jojo/League crossover? Sounds like my cup of tea. Gotta ask though, what's your favorite Jojo Part?
Unfortunately between this gif blog training and streaming (I’ll be online again soon!) there’s probably no way I’d get the chance to write it. I’ve never even written fanfiction before. Maybe years in the future ;)
I have such a hard time deciding! Part V with Giorno Giovanni was really great and I think had the best Stand battles so far. But there was hardly any exposition on GioGio and that makes me sad because it’s one of my favorite parts of any story, I really wanted to see him explore the past of his father and come to terms with vampire dad. How sweet would it have been if the arc was instead about a mysterious force manipulating him into fighting Josuke and Jotaro, that’d be a battle royale for the ages.
Part 2 is probably my favorite because Joseph Joestar is such a funny interesting character, and I really loved the Pillar Men battles and the depth to things. It’s the only part where I had a real emotional response to one of the allies being killed off. If Joseph and Whammu had Stands it would of been the best fight of all time.
Q:Is there any special method to saving a "lost" game?
Baron calls, that is the number method. It’s really surprising how many opportunities are missed, Whenever I play with friends or on a lower ranking account (not often) I can turn around the game at any given moment by telling my friends ‘we can baron, trust me’
It’s called the Counter Baron, let’s say your team got aced and the enemy took an inhibitor turret while you were dead, but every one revived just as they did. RUSH BARON. Usually below upper diamond players will not know to recall immediately and defend it, you can easily turn around a match if they panic and run in one at a time from base or all at once but half health having never recalled.
If you’re a jungler who buys feral flare some games you should test at what point you’re capable of soloing Nashor, if it’s not warded that’s a massive free bonus for your team.
